The Right Brain vs Left Brain Test

Posted by: neuralstate In: WTF| general| science

The Right Brain vs Left Brain test … do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?

If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.

Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.

LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses logic
detail oriented
facts rule
words and language
present and past
math and science
can comprehend
knowing
acknowledges
order/pattern perception
knows object name
reality based
forms strategies
practical
safe
RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses feeling
“big picture” oriented
imagination rules
symbols and images
present and future
philosophy & religion
can “get it” (i.e. meaning)
believes
appreciates
spatial perception
knows object function
fantasy based
presents possibilities
impetuous
risk taking

It automatically turns clockwise for me. I had to concentrate really hard to make it turn counter-clockwise. When it changed direction I had to really concentrate to change it back. Very weird feeling. You almost feel like you’ve just controlled an inanimate object with your mind. At least I felt that way. Still I think it’s an interesting exercise, at least for me, because I always thought of myself as a bit more left-brained than right-brained. The spinning lady says otherwise.

Let me know which way you see it!

OK, this is TOTALLY fucking with me.

I initially saw it turning counter clockwise. I tried to refocus, so as to make it switch to Clockwise… but could not. I tried ‘pushing’ my brain in the same way I do when I make the “3-D cube” flip flop drawn on a piece of paper. No dice.

Then I thought for a second about Magic Eye posters, and BANG… it started going clockwise, and now I can’t get it going back.

Did you just irrevocably shift my brain from Left to Right!?!?! Am I doomed to loose my discerning, razor sharp logic sense, and become a sloppy thinking smelly hippie!?!?!

It’s a mind explosion! If you can’t get it to go back you automatically become a republican.

Pool you say? Hmmmm… perhaps. I’d have to check with the Mrs. of course. Which one is Corey? I am terrible with names.

p.p.s…

I’ve almost figured out how to make the dancer change rotation at will.

You have to focus attention for a moment on the shadow of her sweeping foot. If you can get >IT

Yeah I thought about that but sometimes it just switches on me at random. Whether I’m looking at the feet or not.

Pool:
Corey is an old buddy of Un’s and Blondie’s who’s recently returned from living in Orlando, Not sure if you’ve met him or not.

Dancer: She switches randomly for me to… but I can FORCE her to switch by blocking out the pic except for the feet. If she is rotating clockwise, the sweeping foot is passing in front of the stationary foot. Imagine that it is instead passing behind the stationary foot, and your perspective will shift. Unblock the rest of her and she will be in line with the feet.

At frist she spun clock wise. No matter how hard I tried to switch I could not. Until I focused on just her foot. I covered the rest of her body with my hand but the foot. Then I found I could choose which way I wanted to see her, then when I pulled my hand away I would see her in the way I choose. After doing this a few times she started changing back and fourth fucking my head up! Very kool find!!!
