So I’m back from Cabo San Lucas and boy are my arms tired. Wait that doesn’t make any sense. Anywho, I had a wonderful time in Cabo. I can honestly say that I would return in a heartbeat. The people are incredibly friendly, courteous, and outgoing. I can’t say that I ever had a single bad experience while I was there.
I know I said I would update while I was there but I failed. I thought I would have interwebs access in my room but they only had it in their business center and that was only open from 8:00am - 9:00pm. We were out for most of that time.
So, if you’re interested, prepare to take a magic carpet ride to Cabo San Lucas.
The Flight
Total trip time was about 6.5 hours on average. From Orlando to Houston, Houston to San Jose del Cabo.

For some reason there were these autographed pictures at this restaurant in the food court at the George Bush International Airport. That’s right, 41’s own airport.

The only cool part of the airport was this portion. It was in the shape of an oval and had TV’s all around. It was playing some post-modern futurist video of a flower blooming repeatedly. Clearly some Republican Neo-Fascist Subliminal recruiting video. Those fuckers probably have an office onsite…

I knew it! When I saw this I nearly threw up. The back wall of the store was covered in “books” by Ann Coulter.

You fly into San Jose del Cabo instead of Cabo San Lucas. San Jose was where the original city was. Cabo San Lucas only really gained popularity as a destination in the early 80’s because of the fishing and the fact that it’s at the very end of the Baja Peninsula.

I didn’t know there were mountains in Cabo but there are. Lots of them.

It was comforting to know that the security and customs personal in Mexico were as apathetic and incompetent as those in the States.

Our room. Very comfortable.

The three pools at that hotel. Notice there is no one on the beach. The hotel is on the Pacific side and they do not allow anyone to use the beach. People have died.

This was the view from our hotel’s business center. This is basically all of Cabo San Lucas. The town revolves are the Marina.

The Marina is HUGE. Way bigger than I expected. So big we took taxis to get from one part to the other. We walked most of it. Or so I thought. It wasn’t until the last day that I realized there was still another part of the marina we didn’t see.

The Puerto Paraiso ,Paradise Port, shopping mall is located right on the Marina as are tons of shops and outdoor restaurants. It’s a lot like Bayside.

There is a yearly fishing tournament called the Bisbee Marlin Tournament. You catch the biggest Marlin and you win over $4,000,000. It’s a bit more complicated than that but you get the gist.

The book display made me lol.

Domo Arigato Señor Roboto.
